Short Fiber

The agave pineapple fiber can be utilized to manufacture various products like agave paper, raw material for bio-based agave plastic, anti-erosion biomats, and biofuel for industrial thermal solutions.

We have extensive expertise in processing agave bagasse into fiber pellets, bales, or powder.

Product

Fiber derived from the core of the Agave Tequilana Weber Blue variety. It is a natural fiber.

Physical properties

  • Components: Cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin.
  • Moisture: Maximum 14% in the dry season (October - May).
  • Moisture: Minimum 18% in the rainy season (June - September).
  • Highly absorbent: Water absorption. When the fiber is dry, it absorbs water from 70% to 100% of its own weight. Due to its properties, it absorbs water from the air, so it is advisable to store it in a dry place.
  • Density: 1.3 g/cm3 (heavier than water, sinks in water).
  • High resilience capacity.
  • Formula: No formula, only Agave Fiber.
  • Physical state: Long and solid filament.
  • Odor: Light fermentation.
  • Color: Light brown.
  • Moisture: 12% From October to May. 21% From June to September. (*Since all natural fibers absorb moisture from the air, this depends on atmospheric conditions).
  • Combustion: Does not melt. It chars.

  • Packaging: Bales of 1.10 meters x 0.80 meters x 0.90 meters or more, for example: 1.10 meters x 0.80 meters x 1.30 meters.
  • Bale weight: From 150 KG to 300 KG
